This programme specifies the knowledge and skills required to evaluate the contribution of own area of responsibility to the overall strategy of the organisation. This programme is intended for managers of small businesses and junior managers of business units in larger organisations.

Brief description of Content:
• Understanding the overall strategy of an organisation.
• Understanding how the activities of own area of responsibility align with the overall strategy of the organisation.
• Communicating to the members of own team how its area of responsibility aligns to the overall organisational strategy.
• Developing a performance management programme for a business unit.
• Investigating different performance management systems.
• Monitoring performance in terms of a performance agreement
• Investigating ways of addressing under performance issues.

Learners should be competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 3.
